Organization Profile:
Operated by the San Diego Zoological Society, the Wild Animal Park offers teachers and students unique wildlife education experiences. Guests can view over 3,000 animals, many of them displaying natural behaviors in large field enclosures covering more than 300 acres. The Wild Animal Park's education department provides services for over 10,000 students each year through special tours featuring botony, local conservation issues and efforts to save endangered wildlife, classroom kits for grades K-12, Safari Backpacks that turn middle and high school students into field researchers in the Heart of Africa, as well as outreach programs for local schools. All programs are alligned with the California State Science Framework.
