Organization Profile:
Newspaper in Education(NIE) was designed almost 40 years ago to promote literacy and excellence in local education by providing newspapers to classrooms and free or low-cost guides and workshops for teachers. Our programs use the newspaper to teach science, reading, writing, math, social studies, the arts, and careers. NIE also sponsors community events for students such as the student writing contest and cosponsors the Countywide Spelling Bee, and the Scholastic Journalist Awards.
