Organization Profile:
The Optical Society of San Diego is the local chapter of the Optical Society of America, a professional society. Our mission is to increase and disseminate the knowledge of optics and allied sciences, and to promote the mutual interests of scientists, engineers, teachers, students, and skilled workers in these fields. Chapter activities include sponsorship of a Professional Society award at the San Diego Science and Engineering Fair and workshop presentations on demonstrating optics to teachers, especially at the San Diego Science Educators Association annual conference. We also hold monthly meetings featuring speakers on optics which are open to the public. Our meeting schedule and announcements can be found on our web site at www.ossd.org.
