Teaching with New Geoscience Tools: A Focus on GeoMapApp and our Oceans

Description:
Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Community College Educators are Invited to attend our hands-on summer TeacherTECH Science Workshops.

This introductory hands-on four-day workshop is a must for any educator who wants to explore geoscience data sets in an intuitive and easy way. We will help you learn the software basics, show you how to find user friendly data sources, and help you prepare a ready to use lesson that will help you create dynamic opportunities for student learning and engagement. Featured in this workshop will be the use of GeoMapApp, a free Java™ based tool which works on any type of computer.

Course fee is $145.00.
Course stipend is $200 upon completion and submission of a comprehensive lesson plan

This workshop is offered in collaboration with the Oregon State University, San Diego Mesa College and the San Diego Supercomputer Center. This workshop will take place at the University of California, San Diego.
