What:
EnviroFest at Chollas Lake Park is a family-friendly community celebration featuring hands-on environmental education and arts activities for children. The event will stimulate learning, public participation and creativity while benefiting residents, park users and surrounding businesses.
Who:
Established in 2003, San Diego Girls Alliance is a nonprofit 501 (c)3 that offers guidance, resources and service-oriented community projects for girls and young women. One of SDGA's primary goals is to engage in community service, helping people to identify neighborhood needs and to respond creatively. Historically, this annual event has united and educated members of such local communities as Southeast San Diego, Lemon Grove, Mid-City, College and Rolando neighborhoods and continues to expand its outreach every year.

EnviroFest at Chollas Lake Park is part of an ongoing environmental awareness and community celebration using the following:

* Highlights from Area Nonprofits Making a Difference Locally and Globally
* Face Painting
* Laughter Yoga * Tai Chi * Chi Gung * Community Yoga Classes
* Hip Hop for all ages
* Health and Fitness Activities and Information
* Public Art projects
* Music and entertainment
* Food vendors
History:
Since September 2004, representatives from San Diego Girls Alliance worked with and recruited youths from area schools and community members to participate in the Coastal Commission's Clean Up Day at Chollas Lake. This effort expanded into a community health, wellness and environmental festival for youths, families and people of all ages. San Diego Girls Alliance joins forces with numerous community organizations, businesses and youths to promote environmental education, conservation and health and wellness.
